Nativities

Kate is mad about Christmas!  She loves the whole festive season; lights, decorations, cold weather, the smell of greenery, candles, but mainly carols!  She has been carol singing, without fail every Christmas Eve since the age of 5.

One of Kate’s favourite things about Christmas is being in school.  Every year, she writes a new nativity for the schools in which she works, and they obligingly perform it as her adorable little guinea pigs!

The nativities on this website include the vocal tracks, backing tracks and different versions of the script. These are written for small schools, medium sized schools and big schools, allowing everyone to have a coveted solo line!  See below for more information about Kate’s nativities.

THE BRIGHTEST STAR IN THE SKY

Sirius is the brightest star in the sky; the full-on jazz hands of a star. But all the other stars get fed up with Sirius’ constant dazzling light and decide they’ve had enough. Left alone, Sirius is discovered by the angels who are on the lookout for the brightest star in the sky to lead the King’s to where a special baby has been born. Together they round up the shepherds, lambs and the Kings to witness this newborn King and the other stars realise that no one should hide their light: we were all meant to shine. With all the usual cast of characters for a traditional nativity, and a humorous script (including a power tool-obsessed Joseph) this jazzy show will appeal to the full primary school age range.

BABOUSHKA

It is a cold, winter night and Baboushka is cleaning her house. Suddenly there is a knock at the door and when she opens it, three Kings are standing on Baboushka’s doorstep, asking for shelter and food. They tell Baboushka of a baby King, born that night, and the star that will lead them to Him. They invite Baboushka to travel with them, but she tells them she must prepare for the journey first and pack some toys for the baby. The Kings leave, but when Baboushka is ready to follow, the path of starlight has disappeared.  Will she ever find the little King? Eight memorable and singable songs that also tell the Christmas story, with all the usual cast of characters, plus a baby who nearly gets named ‘Bernard’. Suitable for KS1 and KS2. Not available to purchase in my shop yet.

THE LION, THE UNICORN AND ME

The angels are interviewing for the most suitable candidate to carry Mary on her special journey to Bethlehem, and all the animals want to try their luck. With toe-tapping numbers and a funny script, this is the heart-warming story of a little donkey who is given the most important job of all! For KS1 and KS2 performers who like a giggle.

PAPA DUVAL’S SPECIAL CHRISTMAS

It is Christmas Eve and Papa Duval, an old shoemaker is thinking about the Christmas Story. That night, he dreams an angel tells him that he will see Jesus, if only he looks hard enough. All the next day, Papa Duval looks out of his window and he seems many people passing, in need of a hot drink, a warm fire or a kind word. As he goes to bed that night, Papa Duval is disappointed that he does not see the special visitor. When the angel appears to him again, Papa Duval realises what being a good samaritan is all about.
