Career and experience
I trained as a primary school teacher, then became a musician-in-residence at a school in Italy, a performing arts lecturer at Wiltshire College, and Head of Expressive Arts at a middle school in Somerset.
I then went back to university to do an MA, before taking up the post as Deputy Manager for the Bristol Arts and Music Service, and then Assistant Head at Wiltshire Music Service.
I now work freelance across the county and beyond.
I have been the musical director and chorus director for many shows and musicals, and composer for several Shakespeare plays and other drama pieces, such as 'Tom's Midnight Garden', 'The Crucible' and 'Jane Eyre'. I conducted a male voice choir for 10 years, as well as children’s choirs, and have an LRSM in Choral Conducting.
I enjoy singing project work and working with massed choirs – and have conducted at the Schools Proms at the Royal Albert Hall...twice!
